Google Maps & European Football Championship
Once again Google Maps demonstrates its innovative character and support of events that resonates with society with their interactive map of the UEFA European Football Championship.
The map has news on the teams taking part in the championships, information on the stadiums where matches are being held, the championship results and team rankings. Everything is updated in real time and a news section on the championships is also available. What’s also quite cool is the ability for users to create and share their own football maps.
The link between sports and the Internet is a very important one. For events like EUFA and FIFA, where there’s a large following of supporters but with the majority of the population not being afforded the opportunity to attend, the Internet makes it possible to bring the event to the world in an engaging manner.
